Learning English as an Adult

Many of our students are busy adults. They have jobs, families, and many responsibilities. Sometimes they feel tired after work, but they still come to class and study English.

私たちの生徒の多くは忙しい大人です。仕事や家庭があり、たくさんの責任があります。仕事のあとで疲れていることもありますが、それでもクラスに来て英語を勉強しています。

Learning English as an adult can be challenging. It is hard to find time, and sometimes people feel shy about making mistakes. But adults also have many strengths. They have clear goals, rich life experience, and strong motivation.

大人になってから英語を学ぶことは、たしかに簡単ではありません。時間を見つけるのは大変ですし、間違えるのが恥ずかしいと感じることもあります。でも、大人にはたくさんの強みもあります。はっきりした目標があり、人生経験が豊かで、やる気も強いです。

You don’t need to study for hours every day. Even 10 or 15 minutes can help if you study regularly. You can listen to English on the train, read a short article during lunch, or review new words before bed.

毎日何時間も勉強する必要はありません。10分や15分でも、続ければ大きな力になります。電車の中で英語を聞いたり、お昼休みに短い記事を読んだり、寝る前に新しい単語を復習したりできます。

Most importantly, don’t be afraid of mistakes. In our classes, mistakes are welcome. They show that you are trying something new. As teachers, we are always happy to see your progress, step by step.

一番大切なのは、間違いを恐れないことです。私たちのクラスでは、間違いは大歓迎です。間違いは「新しいことに挑戦している」というサインだからです。先生として、皆さんが一歩ずつ上達していく姿を見るのが何よりうれしいです。
